Window tint is a film applied to the inside of your glass that rejects heat and UV and cuts glare. Elemental Auto installs ceramic and carbon window film in Steamboat Springs, shrunk and cut to each window, without the bubbling or fading that comes with cheap film.

Why it matters up here
Sun off a snowpack is brighter than sun off pavement, and it comes from below as well as above. Good tint makes a winter drive noticeably easier on the eyes, and in summer a ceramic film keeps a parked car from turning into an oven without a dark, mirrored look.
How the appointment goes
We clean the glass, cut and heat-shrink the film to each window, then squeegee it out. Most vehicles are done in half a day. Leave the windows up for a few days while the film cures; a little haze or a few small water pockets in that window are normal and clear on their own.

- What tint is legal in Colorado?
- Colorado allows a non-reflective strip on the windshield above the AS-1 line and 27% light transmission on side and rear windows in most configurations. We walk through legal options for your vehicle so you get the look and heat rejection you want without a ticket.
- What's the difference between ceramic and carbon film?
- Both block UV and reduce glare. Ceramic film rejects noticeably more heat at the same shade, doesn't interfere with phone or GPS signals, and costs more. Carbon is a solid mid-range option.
- Will the tint bubble or turn purple?
- Not with quality film installed properly. Bubbling and purple haze come from dyed film and rushed installs, and we don't use either.
